Reflecting on 2025 and Looking Ahead to 2026

TL;DR

  • In 2025, we delivered on every commitment outlined in our 2024 roadmap, and in several areas exceeded it.
  • ExtendInsights expanded significantly, including AI-assisted SOQL and SuiteQL reporting for Salesforce and NetSuite directly in Excel.
  • ExtendSync continued to mature, and enhanced file management evolved into a new standalone app: ExtendDocs.
  • We launched a new Admin Portal, establishing a foundation for deeper visibility, governance, and scale.
  • Looking ahead to 2026, we’re investing heavily in Excel-first innovation, including a new Financial Reporting Engine, expanded ExtendInsights and ExtendSync capabilities, and a more powerful Admin Portal.

As we close out 2025, it’s a good moment to pause, reflect, and take stock of how far we’ve come and where we’re headed next. In our 2024 wrap-up, we laid out a clear set of commitments for the year ahead. This post is about accountability, execution, and the momentum we’ve built along the way.

Delivering on Our 2025 Commitments

In our 2024 reflection, we shared a roadmap focused on deepening value for existing customers while expanding what’s possible inside Excel and NetSuite-connected workflows. I’m proud to say that in 2025, we delivered on everything we set out to do and, in several cases, went beyond what we originally promised.

ExtendInsights: A Breakout Year for Excel Power Users

ExtendInsights had a standout year.

Every initiative we outlined for 2025 was delivered, along with several meaningful additions that were not originally on the roadmap. The most impactful advancement is the ability for users to report on both Salesforce and NetSuite data directly from Excel using SOQL and SuiteQL.

Even better, users do not need to be experts in either query language. With built-in AI assistance, you can simply describe the data you want, and ExtendInsights will generate the SOQL or SuiteQL for you. This dramatically lowers the barrier to advanced reporting while still giving power users full control when they want it.

The result is faster analysis, fewer manual workarounds, and Excel dashboards that were previously difficult or impossible to build.

Just as importantly, SOQL and SuiteQL unlock access to data that traditional reports often cannot. These query languages allow users to pull in related records, custom objects, calculated fields, and metadata that may not be exposed through standard reporting tools. This means teams are no longer constrained by predefined report structures and can instead model data exactly as their business operates. When combined with Excel’s flexibility, this opens the door to deeper analysis, richer financial and operational views, and reporting that evolves as the business evolves.

ExtendSync and the Evolution into ExtendDocs

ExtendSync also delivered on every commitment we made for 2025.

One evolution deserves special mention. What we previously described as enhanced file management has grown into its own dedicated application: ExtendDocs.

ExtendDocs introduces powerful new NetSuite document management capabilities, including the ability to sync large email attachments to OneDrive and SharePoint while still making them visible and accessible in NetSuite. This solves a long-standing challenge for teams dealing with file size limits, storage policies, and document visibility, all without disrupting existing workflows.

A New Foundation: The Admin Portal

2025 also marked the launch of our new Admin Portal, giving administrators greater visibility and control across their CloudExtend applications. This release lays the foundation for significantly more administrative insight and scalability moving forward.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we turn our focus to 2026, the theme is depth, scale, and reducing friction, especially for teams that live in Excel and rely on CloudExtend to keep systems aligned.

A New Financial Reporting Engine for Excel

Excel users can look forward to a new Financial Reporting Engine, built directly into Excel. This will fundamentally change how financial data is modeled, consolidated, and reported, while preserving the flexibility and familiarity that Excel users rely on every day.

ExtendInsights: Going Even Further

ExtendInsights will continue to expand in ways that make Excel the central hub for operational and analytical work:

  • Prebuilt Excel templates to accelerate common reporting and analysis use cases
  • Download NetSuite datasets directly into Excel for deeper modeling and reuse
  • Download NetSuite reports into Excel without rebuilding them from scratch
  • Expanded scheduling options for automated refreshes and downstream workflows
  • Improved error messages that make issues easier to understand and resolve

HubSpot Enhancements

For HubSpot users, several major enhancements are coming:

  • Fields from associated objects included directly in downloads, eliminating the need for complex joins or post-processing
  • Upsert capability, allowing Excel to act as a safe and controlled data editing layer so users can update or insert records without worrying about duplicates or broken imports
  • SmartSync, which continuously keeps Excel sheets up to date by syncing only new and changed data, resulting in faster refreshes and far less disruption to existing models
  • Enhanced template sharing, making it easier for teams to standardize, share, and reuse reporting logic

ExtendSync: Deeper Workflow Automation

ExtendSync will continue to evolve from simple syncing into true workflow enablement:

  • Extend Send from Outlook to support NetSuite workflows, not just record attachments
  • Enhanced Gmail Autopilot to reach feature parity with Outlook
  • Admin-defined record creation forms, removing the need for individual user setup
  • Send statements as an option when using Send from Outlook
  • Email engagement tracking, including opens and clicks
  • Expanded admin control over Autopilot, giving organizations stronger governance and consistency

Admin Portal: What’s Coming in 2026

The Admin Portal will continue to mature in 2026, with a focus on visibility, scale, and operational control:

  • Usage statistics and adoption insights
  • Bulk user upload and management
  • Automated health checks
  • Additional administrative tools designed to reduce friction and improve oversight

Thank You
